About 9:50 pm on Sunday 31 December 2017, police attended Collarenebri Club to conduct a licenced premises inspection. Upon their arrival, police were accosted by an intoxicated 30 year old male accused on Walgett Street outside the Club who was loudly swearing at police and demanding to know the reason of police presence. After issuing multiple warnings for engaging in offensive behaviour, police issued a move-on direction to the accused. The accused failed this direction and was arrested and conveyed to an address in Collarenebri where he was released in the care of his brother. He was issued criminal infringement notices for offensive behaviour and continue intoxicated and disorderly behaviour.
On the evening of Thursday 4 January 2018, a 31 year old female accused and 37 year old male victim were drinking alcohol at an address in Collarenebri when they were involved in an argument. The argument resulted in the accused punching the victim in the head and biting him on his forearm. The accused then rang police demanding to be arrested. Police attended from Lightning Ridge, arrested the accused and conveyed her to Walgett Police Station. She was charged and issued with Court attendance notice to appear before Walgett Local Court on 23 January 2018.
