A 42 year old male from Walgett was arrested on Monday the 2nd of October 2017 after he allegedly walked up to his ex defacto wife, who was seated in her vehicle at an address in Dewhurst Street, Walgett, and threw a beer bottle at the vehicle. The beer bottle smashed the windscreen of the vehicle. He was charged with Destroy or Damage Property and will attend Walgett Local Court on the 10th of October 2017.
About 12.00pm on Thursday the 28th of September 2017 a 39 year old male from Walgett commenced an argument with his defacto wife at their address in Neilly Street, Walgett. During the argument he allegedly took hold of her by her face with his hand and squeezed causing one of her bottom teeth to dislodge. About 10.10am on Monday the 2nd of October he approached her in Neilly Street and grabbed her by the hair before striking her to the back of the head a number of times and dragging her back to their premises. She managed to leave a short time later and attended Walgett Police station. About 11.30am Police arrested him in Peel Street, Walgett and he was charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Common Assault. He was given conditional bail and will attend Walgett Local Court on the 10th of October 2017.
