Dog Judging, Yard Dog Trials and Dog Sports offer classes for dogs and owners. Participation is easy or watch from the crowd. The Children’s Pets section is not being run this year, however would-be young exhibitors need not be disappointed as the Dog Judging on Sunday morning this year has classes for pets, whether they be dogs or other species. Dog Sports/Agility is also held on Sunday morning, with the program unchanged from last year. The Yard Dog Trials will take place on Saturday morning. The program includes Combadery Rams Beginners Trial and North West Vets Challenge (sponsored by North West Vets and Deshon Goat Depot). With prize money and prizes thanks to the above and other sponsors, this will be a good opportunity for having a go and testing the skills of working dogs and their owners. Nominations can be made on the day, or contact Rosie Newton on 0428 281 427.
The Jan Marshall Memorial Hospitality Tent is the social hub of the Walgett Show. Operated by volunteers from the Show Society and community members, the call is going out for volunteers to assist with shifts at the hospitality tent. ‘A CALL TO TONGS’ is the appeal sent out to the community to come and “show” off your BBQ skills for an hour or two. If you could assist in any way, please contact Sarah Wickman 0411 222 257
Something special available at the Hospitality Tent this year is the opportunity to treat mum to a Mother’s Day Breakfast @ the Walgett Show on Sunday 14th May 9am – 11am. If you forget Mother’s Day what better way to redeem yourself by treating Mum to delicious home cooked pancakes, scrumptious croissants and tasty egg & bacon burgers.
