NSW CWA Walgett Branch
At this year’s annual general meeting Walgett Branch could not elect new executive, another meeting will be held on the 9th December commencing at 11am at the Walgett Sporting Club followed by Christmas lunch.
If the Walgett Branch cannot elect an executive it will cease having meetings and go into recession. If the branch closed completely the NSW Country Women’s Association has the right to sell the rooms as they belong to the organisation not the Walgett Branch.
The Walgett Branch requires some younger members to take over the leadership and continue the works of CWA into the future
We have 33 members and 7 life members of which only 5 to 7 come to meetings, it would be so good if a few more members could give up few hours once per month to come to the meetings. The meetings are held on Saturday at 9.30 am and this time can change
CWA has been operational in Walgett since the early 1920s and we have achieved fantastic outcomes in the past for rural people and have always worked for the community it would be sad to see another organisation cease to exist in this community due to lack of support.
